World’s Thinnest Contact Lens

Advertorial

1012683_172830079562318_407211835_nDon’t we all want perfect eyesight? Unfortunately, not everyone is blessed with good vision. Many of us have no choice but to wear glasses. However, we also want to look pretty, so we would often use contact lens as a means to get “perfect eyesight”

I started using contact lenses since I was 20 years old. The lenses I currently use are daily disposables. Why? Because you need to be very diligent when taking care of contact lenses. As they are going into your eyes, one wrong move could lead to disastrous consequences.

What are the common frustrations I face when I am using contact lenses?

  • Some packaging can be so difficult to open
  • It is hard to differentiate the right side of your lens and you will end up touching the side which is supposed to “touch” your eye
  • You may accidentally scratch/tear your lens while trying to locate your lens in the solution
  • Prolong wear causes eye fatigue

 Who is Miru?

Miru means to see in Japanese. Menicon is Japan’s first and largest contact lens and lens care product manufacturer, represented in more than 30 countries.

I happened to come across Miru at Plaza Singapura when I was out for dinner with a friend. The service there is very detailed and each consultation takes about 30 minutes. My sister currently is a member with them.

Dubbed as World’s Thinnest Contact Lens Packaging’, it is so thin and so compact you can even carry your lens in your wallet. Say goodbye to bulky boxes you need to bring along with you on your trips. Imagine the space you can save with this? Don’t believe me, look at the photo below I got from their website.

A comparison of 1mm packaging with our standard contact lens packaging. IT IS AMAZING! Look at the difference, I am impressed with it! I always have a hard time storing my lenses due to limited space. This way I can save a whole lot of space in my cabinet

As you can see, unlike our typical bulky standard blister packs, these contact lenses are securely packed between a specially designed foil sheets.

Wet hands? No problem at all!

The seals are super easy to open and requires less force, so no more tugging your pack and accidentally spilling all the contents out! (that’s my worst nightmare! T-T)

Once the seal is opened, the lens will “come up” with the outer surface facing upwards and ready to wear. I no longer have to try to figure out (half-blindly) if I am wearing the correct side. With the outer surface always facing upwards, the bacteria on your finger nails will not contaminate the inner surface, thus reducing the chances of having an eye infection. This way, it is actually more hygienic!

Not forgetting Miru’s unique Centraform edge design actually helps reduces friction between your eyelid and the edge of the lens when you blink. No more discomfort! It ensures you have perfect yet comfortable vision all day long. It doesn’t even feel like you are wearing contact lenses.

What’s great is that they are also environmentally friendly (PLUS POINTS)

From 1st November 2015 to 31st January 2016, Miru is celebrating their 2nd birthday.
